Brown interviewing at Dartmouth?

Recommended Posts

You guys are getting a big break if Brown goes. Next year will be another tough year for UA and Brown would get dumped anyway IMO. Might as well get a move on a new era. UAlbany is a MUCH better job than Dartmouth. The only reason Brown will take it is because he knows he's on the hot seat. Good luck with whatever happens with Brown.

Whyland is just SOOOO smart...how else would Brown be talking to them?

Because other than Parrish's tweet, who's said Will Brown was talking to Dartmouth? Since the Dartmouth story named Jeff Brown, and the Times-Useless still hasn't mentioned it, this was the first real confirmation that Will was in Hanover.

Fair point...I just went ahead and assumed it was fact that Brown interviewed there but your right, other then Parrish, no one else had it.

with recruits visiting campus and the signing period upon us, whether he gets the job or not, isn't this the worst possible timing in terms of getting commitments out of these recruits?

I thought the same thing. Although Lonergan did something similar with Holy Cross not too long ago.

A fresh start would be terrible for the program at this point...all the progress the young kids made last season would be gone, starting over with a new coach and a new system...not to mention that if Brown leaves, who says Logan and Black don't leave too. As much as we are all frustrated with how last season ended up, a CB departure would be nothing but terrible for the program at this point

TU is reporting Brown was impressive in his interview, and dartmouth is offering 6 years at 170,000 to whoever they decide...lower salary, but much more security...interesting

$170K...that's a HUGE paycut!

I know it might not be all about the money but that kind of a cut is significant.

But $170k x 6yr = $1.02m...$250k x 1yr or 2yr = $250k or $500k (if it's not extended past that..of course). Not quite as absurd as it first seems.

Exactly.

6 years is a long long time to have job stability as a college basketball coach.

Plus if he can rebuild that program you can almost guarantee that salary will be renegotiated just like he did here when St. Bonny came calling.
