I'd still rather have Leahey in there. Leathey looks like he has potential and he's got three years left.

This season is all but over for us so might as well use it as a learning experience for a long-term QB IMO.

Agreed...and I want to say these few things:

1. DiLella is done, or should be in my opinion.

2. Play Buddy the rest of the way...and let's see what he can do. If not, let's see him and Fiacchi battle for next year during Spring Drills

3. I am sorry, and of course sensitive to anyone losing their job in this economy, but McCarthy has been AWFUL for a couple of years running. He has no imagination...but worse, he has no clue how to use considerable talent available to him.

4. I am not that upset as I reflect; we were all "swindled" (Hey, if Tom Hicks can use it...) by the Maine game. Frankly, this is exactly how the team should have been coming into the year...about 500 or better. That said, it was a disappointing defensive display in the first half...and Simpson needs to recruit some sick ass athletes...or he needs a scheme change.

Pretty bad day. So much for a Friday night showdown for all the marbles.

At least the NEC may have a strong representative in the playoffs this year.

Looking at DiLella: 4 for 17 for 12 yards. That's not so nice.

Leathley

10/17 81 yards 2 INTs

Good completion % :P

Season over, time to prep for next year. Goal moving forward should be developing the future.

Ok gentleman now that the emotions of Saturdays game should be somewhat tempered lets look to the future. Dan is not getting it done period . The two interception throw by Buddy , although not good really don't bother me . He went into the game down 35 and im sure we were taking chances. The last one he threw could have been caught the reciever got his hands on it . Anyway I believe we need to go to more of a spread type offense to get Drew and Dillon the ball outside . Leathley is athletic enough to run that kind of scheme we can line up Drew all over the field. Number 1 seems to be our best off tackle runner. Im not sure what happen on the defensive side of the ball in the first half but it needs to be fixed quick . Hard to tell what the coaching staff is going to do! but the time is now for some kind of change at this point i'll take anything

Agreed. I see no reason why Leathey, Romain and Smith should not all be in the game at the same time almost every play. You've got Paul Booker who is also a threat as a split-TE and can block and multiple WR's that are impact guys if given the chance. With all that talent why would you run a boring old pro-style zone blocking run scheme?
