Teresa Coppiellie was named the 2010 America East Conference Volleyball Player of the Year, and Laurie Gonzalez Defensive Specialist of the Year. Coppiellie and Casey Wright were named to the first team, and Gonzalez to the second team.

UA release

Only question I would have is what does it take to be coach of the year. Team is picked second, losses the best setter and possibly the best player in the league, still finishes first, yet coach of the year goes to a coach we will not see tomorrow.

Good crowd, great team. I thought going into the tourney we looked a little more vulnerable than usual with the loss to Hartford but they put it together when it counted the most. Hope for a good draw - maybe host?

I would have been shocked if UA were to host even before being told we will not. Most of the 16 top teams would probably host.

RPI though last week (11/14) was #85, not as good as in the past but still good for a "Mid major" in the northeast. That loss to Hartford hurt there. Believe it or not it is worse than losing to LCC for RPI purposes. Not that they ever lost to LCC.

Top 16 last week in RPI are

1 Florida

2 Illinois

3 Stanford

4 Penn St

5 Nebraska

6 UNI

7 Southern California

8 California

9 Minnesota

10 Hawaii

11 Dayton

12 Duke

13 Texas

14 LSU

15 Purdue

16 Tennessee

Congrats to the ladies.

My guess is that Penn St hosts, and UAlbany heads back to that group

for the 1st/2nd round.

Anybody seen photos of the championship team holding the banner?

I am hoping for Penn State because it is close. I wouldn't be shocked if they went to Dayton.

Wouldn't a victory against Dayton in the NCAA Tournament be enjoyable!

Thanks 72 for the photo. It's up on the UA website now?
