Women's conference championship game

Recommended Posts

Where was Santillo of the Troy Record. 2 teams playing to get in the conference championship and he is no where to be found. Extremely weak on his part. Even the TU had someone there.

Troy Record sent Santillo to MA for the MAAC Conference Tourney.

I guess he is their only sports reporter and the Record felt MAAC was a better cover story than AE.

Well, that is a dumb decision.

Hahah.. then contact the Record and let them know. Bob you're gonna run out of newspapers to read..no TU, now the Troy Record...

I read the papers when there is something to read and when there is not it leaves more time to tailgate before the game, but it is a disservice to the players and the community not to cover the local university sports properly.

This area has NO pro teams, and a couple of minor league teams and 3 worthy universities/colleges (2 of which only play hockey) that play Division 1 sports. It should not be that hard to cover the local division 1 teams. Only 1 of the 2 hockey teams was playing this weekend and the 2 basketball teams playing to get into the conference tournament were in the same site and the womens team winning to make their first conference championship is certainly one of the top local stories of the day. (as is the men's team going down to a buzzer beater vs the league #1 seed.)

"No courtside seating for this game. Doh! I know at least one poster here is going to be very upset about that." - Dane Pound

disappointing ... must be expecting an unreal turnout from the Maryland press corp ... we had our seats for the home America East Conference Championship Game, and again the year we hosted the America East Conference Tournament ... :glare:

despite the fact that we have had six seats together for nearly ten years, i was told we may not have six seats together for saturday ...

They will have to win for you to get you 6 seats together for the game the following weekend :D

Just talked to Brian. So far about half the season ticket holders have committed to the game, the Alumni Association's allotment of discount tickets has sold out, and they're pushing hard for community/youth groups and the like.

Due to demand, Alumni Assn. has subsidized some more tickets. Get them while you can!!

I think I knew at least half of these things but still I liked 10 things you might know about UAlbany. Coach Abe averaged 44 points a game in high school? Hotchie-Motchie!

Would we be the first SUNY women's program to go to the NCAA tourney if we win Saturday?

Same here. ,but Wilkin probably didn't know any of them yesterday. Good to see the team get some pub. Maybe moving millionaires row out of their seats will be a good thing. I just picked up my tickets. It is beautiful out there today. It would be perfect tailgating weather if it is like this on Saturday, but People say the siena weather is coming back tonight  I'll look up the AE represenatives and get back to you shortly on your question.

DP

We would have to be the first .

Buffalo has only made the semis in their league once. In 2009 as the 6 seed out of the east division. They lost in that round. Obviously SB and Bingo have not made it. AE auto bid.

Hartford 02,05,06, 08,11

BU 03

Maine 04

UMBC 07

Vermont 09,10

I think Hartford went as an at large in one of Vermont's year.

Ahh...another first for the woefully underfunded (cough, cough UB and SBU) athletic program of Albany.

Here's to you legislature (middle finger out, with a smile).

Let's go Lady Danes; another notch in UA's belt!

It was time for Castelli to go, by all accounts she's a nice lady, represented herself and the school with class but 8 losing season in a row is 8 losing season in a row. Don't think for a minute their AD isn't looking over here at the new football stadium going up...man close to 20 wins, women in the conference tourney with a two year coach at the helm and thinking...crap, I gotta do something. Especially how badly we waxed them (inappropriate???) last December.

By that You mean they are desparate to keep LCC in the news with Albany wpomen playing for a NCAA bid on Saturday.
