No. 44 junior college prospect according to Next Up Recruits…has the potential to be one of the best post players to ever play at Tallahassee…has good hands and feet…has figured out who he is and once he gets game experience will become a game-changer and playmaker…returning from a hip injury sustained last September that cost him his entire freshman season…originally committed to Oklahoma then later to Washington State, choosing the Cougars over the likes of Washington, Clemson, Missouri, Florida State, UConn, Alabama, Louisville and Texas Tech…a consensus three-star prospect.

2012-13: Attended Tallahassee Community College but did not participate.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played one year at Westwind (Arizona) Prep International and averaged 10.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocks...attended Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H…as a sophomore.

PERSONAL: Competed on the Under-17 Canadian National Team that won third place in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Under-17 World Championships during the summer following his sophomore year at Brewster Academy.

So how old is this guy? Westwind Prep, Brewster Academy, injured 2012-13, 2013-14 at Tallahassee. But played under-17 after Brewster?

He only played 11mpg, apparently some health concerns last year. Gotta believe they looked into that to make sure he could get on the court before recruiting him.

Says Tallahassee head coach Eddie Barnes: "He is a very skilled big man, but he's not a high-riser. He will play on the rim, not over it. His body allows him to push people around. He's willing to get better and that's what I like about him right now. He fits the mold of the big men we've been successful with in the past ..."

I'd like to know the back story about "..has figured out who he is"

The game log is really strange. http://tcceagles.com/sports/mbkb/2013-14/bios/peters_richard_8q9u?view=gamelog

The team started 5-0, lost a game 19-6, looks like they forfeited three games, then won five more. Peters played 15-20 minutes in most December games, then less than 10 minutes for most of the January games.

Great to see us get a big body. Tough to get much bigger than 6'10" or 6'11" at 280lb. Obviously would like to see better numbers in his year at TCC..but those were some serious schools in on him just a year or two..so there's certainly some promise.

And Coach Brown's teams really don't run offenses through the center. Even Puk..the team's most gifted center on the offensive end for the past number of years..never averaged more than 6.4ppg in a season. Get a big body who can disrupt some shots..box out..grab a few rebounds..and pick-up a put back here and there. I think Peters fits the bill.

The list of BCS schools that offered him out of high school is flat out scary and he is for sure a big man which we needed. How many scholarships are left now?

About a month ago..Brown said we had two scholarships available. Singletary wasn't able to sign yet at that time..so who knows if he's one of the two or if it's two in addition to him. Looking back at the post..apparently Brown said on the radio that we needed a big (Peters) and someone to play around Hooley and Rowley (Singletary?).
