Could we please keep this thread on point.

We've been picked 10th out of 11th and got zero players on the preseason all-conference team.

Low expecations - an odd feeling.

National media doesn't really even give us a chance.

There should be a learning curve despite all of their excitement. Stony Brook, which is coming off four straight titles in the Big South Conference, appears better prepared for the move and it shows in the Seawolves being picked seventh out of 11 teams in the CAA preseason poll on Wednesday. Albany, which ended its run in the Northeast Conference with two straight titles, was ahead of only Rhode Island and neither newcomer had a player named to the preseason all- conference team.

...

The two newcomers join the CAA in a way that is similar to the teams they have replaced this year. Albany, like Georgia State two years ago,, basically has its collective hand up in a signal of halt, feeling the transition at hand. Stony Brook, like Old Dominion, is waving on the competition, expecting to be a title contender.

I do believe being picked 10th is the right spot because I think the league is VERY VERY deep this season. It is definitely a blow to our collective psyche's to be picked so low. However, I do hope that Fordie rides this out 2 more years after this one. IT will take that long to right the ship for CAA competition day in and out. Of the northern schools, I think the Stadium and school are a very easy sell to recruit to, however UNH will be able to point to years of success.

Put it this way: If UNH can do it with crap facilities...I expect us to be just as good in a few cycles.

I have a strange feeling about this team; I think Will said it best at media day...there is a chip on their shoulder. I suspect that we will win a game we shouldn't in CAA play. BUT WE MUST WIN EVERY OOC CONTEST but for ODU.

Iorizzo was on Wyland's show today. Not much new, but Ford told him his biggest concern was the number of freshman that might have to see time.

Sounds like Rodger is going to refer to our league as the redundant "CAA Conference" just like he does with the "ACC Conference".
