UA_MA_2000
How many football games will we sell out this year? Will this Saturday be one of those sell outs?
Eli
I said >6,000 and 3.
danefan
8500 includes grass seating. To get above 8500, we'll need people standing. Possible this weekend and homecoming for sure.
UAalum72
Homecoming will sell out. This week will nearly sell out the seats but, with Yom Kippur (and the berm's capacity probably overstated), won't hit 8,500 but still will set an attendance record (6,852 last year vs. St. Francis on homecoming). I think we might report a sell out this weekend regardless. Creative ticket counting like everyone else does. Homecoming will be packed. And it will be our toughest game of e year. Towson is the real deal and a strong contender in my mind for a National Championship this year.

What I'm hoping is that UA football has the highest attendance of any college athletic event in the Capital District.

What other sports programs, other than perhaps Siena Mens BB can compete with the athletic events we put on? Maybe RPI hockey? Union FB? Doubt it. They averaged a respectable 6,361 last year (albeit counting our game which is a skew). Without the Albany Cup they averaged 6,063. We averaged 4,004 for football in 2012 in a field where only 2,500 could see the whole field. If we sell out (8500) the 14th and homecoming, we'll need to average 5200 to get above 6,500 for the year. Very doable and a disappointment if we don't, IMO. Doable, but we'll need good weather every week, and enough encouraging wins to keep the bandwagon full. As for more attendance than downtown, another losing season down there won't hurt. This year we won't get too many more visiting fans than in the past. That may be better next year with Delaware and JMU, I hope.

Clickclack
If we can get ANY traction with students...that 8500k will be sold out every week...I'm talking about get 15-20% of the campus interested...
UA_MA_2000
And get the students at other colleges interested. This is the team of the 518 (and Hudson Valley). IMHO, I would like to see free admission for students of the other local colleges including Siena. And we need to market to the local high school football programs. Those players are precisely the people who would enjoy coming to a division 1 football game with their families; after all, don't a lot of those high school players want to play in college one day? UAalum72
Anyone know how they are marketing to students? Pep Rally 6:00 Thursday, swipe SUNYCard for free tickets, tour stadium, free food. Classes aren't suspended until 2:35 Friday, so it's just a regular weekend for non-MOTTs
