danefan
Just a minor point but I don't understand the 3:30 start times in November. Later afternoon or evening games are great in September or October. Once the clocks change I think the games should go to 1 PM starts. I don't really care for myself. I have a hat and I'm not afraid to use it but I think a lot of casual fans aren't as willing to freeze their Seawolves off to watch a game after dark when it's colder. Agreed. They actually got lucky with Saturday's game. I also think they need to do more promos early in the year. Hall of Fame weekend is not a promotion. It does not draw crowds. Eli
BUT, there is something to be said about 'under the lights'. I play rec league organized sports and I love playing under the lights. Even though sometimes it's tough to see the ball, etc. (depending on the sport).
dslyank
Actual attendance is probably closer to averaging 8,000. It would be awesome to average 7,000 or more for he season. I do not really understand why we can not report our actuaL attendance? I may be mistaken, but if there are 8500 seats and they are all filled and we put 3000 on the grass, how is that violating fire code? We are not over filling the place?? Anyone know [perhaps Brutus] exactly how many actual (not grass) seats there are?
UAalum72
I think 8,500 includes the grass seating. Fire code vs. capacity is mainly about the number and accessibility of exits - though I don't know how that applies to aluminum bleachers and bluegrass hillsides, except for mass panic or something. BTW Brutus, on 25 August 2012 - 02:04 PM, said: For further reference: Upper Bowl = 2,056 patrons Lower Bowl = 2,192 patrons Berm Seating = 1,692 patrons East Side Temp Bleachers = Estimated at 2,000 patrons so the temp bleachers must have 2,560 to get to 8,500. The stadium is surrounded by a fence which has controlled access points (gates). In an emergency only so many people can safely get through those exits. I'm not running to the nearest gate lol.
