Is Connor Russell hurt? Not showing up in the box score and he is our best hope with face-offs.

Team is now 4th and 6th in the Laxpower computer ranking and Tournament Selection Index, but only 13th in RPI and the Laxpower Poll

BTW, I've heard there's nothing wrong with Russell. Others are challenging for the position.

Just seems odd that Russell didn't get some chances vs. UMass based on the stats so far this year:

For people who have been to lacrosse games at Albany before can you just show up and get tickets or do you have to get them beforehand? Planning a family trip for the Bing game on 4/26 and could have a decent crew 6-8 adults and 3-5 kids. I'm thinking we can just get them when we show up, but don't want to make a 3 hour trip and then be out of luck when it comes to tickets.

 

Or now I see I can just order them online so I'll probably do that.

No reserved seating, but the lines can get long at the ticket booth, so if you don't get tickets in the mail give yourself plenty of time before the game.

Lost to Bryant 11-12. WHY? Face offs UA-5, Bryant-22. Ground Balls UA-18, Bryant 41. Shots UA-42, Bryant-52. Why? Because we pretty much never had the ball. Riorden kept us in the game especially in the first half (17 saves overall); pretty much only positive.

 

Anyhow, CONGRATS to basketball team, saw first half on tv and had radio @ lacrosse for the second half, and dvr'd for tonight. Team and FANS were awesome!! Danced with them in Philly last year, hope to again if somewhere close.

Well, it looks like we have a problem with consistency. Underestimating an opponent? Bryant did beat Drexel by a nice margin.

And it also looks like we haven't improved in the center circle. My hopes were that we finally were going to be strong with the faceoffs.

Apparently not this year. If we had intention and depth of going deep into the ncaas, this would be a game, at home, where we'd end up with the win.

After one period, Penn State is 5-5 on faceoffs, outshooting UA 13-5, groundballs 13-5

Same story. UA has won four of 14 faceoffs (one on a violation). Ten saves by Riorden at the half. Up 7-5

Faceoffs a little better in the second half (7 of 17) and we win 17-10.

Imagine if we were a bit better than our opponents on faceoffs and groundballs......

we'd destroy people.

Lose to Canisius 14-10. Another game where they get beat handily on face-offs and ground balls. Extremely disappointing so far. Hope they get their act together and make a run like the basketball team, but not looking so good right now. Thought they would be better than this.
