Attendance 4912 is pretty good considering the 40-degrees, clouds, and losing record. Anybody hear what's the problem with the visiting bleachers, kept empty tonight?

13 penalties on Maine, six on us for 99 yards (16.5 yds per penalty?). One of ours was for blocking with interlocked arms - are we trying to revive the flying wedge?

We moved the ball pretty good but couldn't stop them. No discipline - two facemasks, the unsportmanlike after a TD, but I thought the call for the hit out of bounds was iffy.

A bolt came loose during the Section II Super Bowl last night. Easy fix, but the university's code enforcement team wouldn't pass it in time and wouldn't allow anyone to sit on any of the bleachers. It was a good game for it to happen though. They'll have it fixed for next week.

I can understand sit... but clearly they didn't let anyone up there to clean either. Looked awful.

I was really pleased with our offensive line today. Very pleased. Protection was great, as was our push for the running game. The running game seemed most effective when using misdirection and other trickery. Meek looked good too. I really thought we were going to march down the field and win the game at the end.

The hit out of bounds basically cost us the game. It restarted downs and they scored a short while afterward.

I love college football and UAlbany but this is painful... I'm kind of waiting for the end. Like a sick family member at hospice dreading the day but can't take the pain anymore.

What is a feasible record for next year? What should the expectation be for the new coach? I'm thinking 4 to 5 wins overall. 2 in conference. That's my baseline following this year.

Even more painful was sitting there in person in the cold. I was freezing my tail off today! I can't see college football ever drawing huge crowds in November anywhere in the Northeast (Syracuse has a dome).

I thought I dressed appropriately, but I guess not. I'll be more prepared next week for UNH.

November games should start no later than 1 pm., but that might not have helped today. Of course the breeze was out of the ESE, instead of the usual west wind where the grandstand would've blocked it.

That hot chocolate was amazing though. Best I ever had, and the pulled pork sandwiches were nice and moist; very tasty. Food was a lot better today than the cardboard pizza at the TUC last night, which was worse than it ever has been.

My hot chocolate was ice cold. And they ran out of it in the 4th quarter. They had one usher for the entire upper section of the stadium. Most new people had no idea which way to go since there are no signs for sections once you go up the stairs...too logical I guess. And what was with the audio. I mean really..you can't figure it out and it's been how many home games? They practice it before the game starts, but when the game starts it goes downhill. Couldn't hear any of the refs, dance teams song was almost silent. But we would randomly here a Dane barking, that was about it. Big stadium still the same cracker jack staff. Hopefully Jones (who was there) will care to do something about it. It's just embarrassing when you hear newbies from the community coming to our stadium laughing about the management/admin of it. How do you expect to make money and get people from the community to continue to come when we can't even work an audio system. My rant for the evening.. :)

Is this another argument for Phase 2 with permanent seats there instead of temps?

I say hell yes!

The hit out of bounds was borderline, one that probably shouldn't be called in a close game. Too many times in today's day and age, officials' bad calls and interference ruin games. It was a 3rd down play, wasn't it?

I'm not sure of the play calling on in the 4th where we throw the ball long down the sidelines TWICE, the one on ones. Never have liked those calls, anywhere on the field. It's a crap shoot at best.

We were having success with Meek yesterday, maybe he should have run a couple of plays in that series.

On the last sack/fumble on Fiacchi.... I thought he was down. Anybody see it better than I did?

Best we've played all year. If we play like this the next two weeks we'll get a win.

Very surprising to see the dropped balls by Cole King. Usually a sure handed receiver. Really hurt us tonight.

Really? I think his hands are below average. He's had quite a few drops in big spots. Edited by alum73

I am somewhat disappointed in the attendance although it was almost twice that of any game this late last season. The temp wasn't that bad for this time of year. I agree with UAalum72 that November games should not start any later than 1pm (sun is out for entire game). Sad to see the stands on the visitor side damaged, blocked off, and full of garbage.

FWIW - We heard that the administration was expecting a crowd around 6000

After so many years (40+) siting at University field in November, with the wind coming along (east/west) the field, last night for me felt almost balmy. Maybe it toughed me up; or at least taught me to dress warmly. 72, I know you were not cold last night and your comments were just being sympathetic for the newbies. Also, sorry 72, I have to disagree I thought the late hit was indeed called for and not at all borderline. I thought UA played well at times, but to me it still seemed whenever they had the chance to make a big play, they could not do so. The offense is still pitiful; and the defense just can't stop teams on third down. A missed extra point (granted Maine missed two) which would have given us the lead @21-20 and two short punts, were (to me) as costly as the late out of bounds hit. AND Meeks needs to throw the ball once in awhile. I do not care if he heaves it 20 feet out of the end zone and it is uncatchable by anyone (O or D).The wildcat works or not on the principle of deception and by NEVER throwing, you lose 1/3 of the plays capacity.
