Perhaps what some coaches do (just spit balling) is get 8-9 guys who they expect to play and then 3-4 guys from the lower level who are basically expected to be the 'practice squad'. Perhaps what's happened to Brown lately is he got kids who all expected to play (whether or not they were actually good enough). I'm not sure on the history of Wyman, etc. but were guys like him and Reece Williams 'stars' in HS? We have to remember that at the D1 level, a lot of these kids were the captains of their teams, played the whole game, etc. I guess it's hard for some players to let go of that...

GREAT news Charles can now resume all hoop activities and WILL be a part of the UA family again....Coach also said he knew of the 2 players leaving...waiting to offer has been by design supposedly, time will tell. But a healthy Charles is an excellent addition..

Question.. not to take a turn towards negative town, but hasn't he had this ongoing issue which has prevented him on and off for the last season? Is there concern it will reoccur? Any doctors or people with medical knowledge that can weigh in?

Question.. not to take a turn towards negative town, but hasn't he had this ongoing issue which has prevented him on and off for the last season? Is there concern it will reoccur? Any doctors or people with medical knowledge that can weigh in?

 

According to the article, he is taking medication that dries up the fluid around his heart so I'm guessing it should not occur again unless the medication stops working.

Can anyone clarify as to how Brown says no scholarships have been offered, meanwhile we see on all these hoops sites that we have interest in these players. Do we only "offer" once they say, yes I'd like to go here?

The hoops sites should be taken with a grain of salt. These sites are pumped up by the kids, twitter, and AAU people.

Interest and offer are two different items.

 

very often an offer doesn't come until the athlete visits.

 

to get to the next level you need higher level athletes and sometimes you're trying to get a higher level kid and when higher level interest/offers come in you lose that kid after weeks or months of following him around.

I think Wilkin wrote it wrong because he wrote there are no offers but in the quote Brown specifically says "sign". I would think at this point that at least some offers are out.
