Nice win. I still disagree w/ the "grind it out". And by that I mean I don't think that's what we did. We scored 71 w only 2 three pointers. Our TOs for the most part were not when pushing the pace or attacking the basket . Sam had 7 of the 14 (along w 13 RBs), and his weren't when pushing the ball. When we score, we win.

 

I think coach has said it so much that others believe it even though the stats may not agree. Maybe he's outsmarted them all.

 

On to Orlando.

I've never seen Sam so flustered. Feel for the kid to have a game like that in that spot after having such a nice game against SBU. Just a bad day, shake it off and come out strong in Orlando. DJ was money. Kid played his ass off today. Hooley with 14 in the second half in crush time and 18 overall. Love it. We deserved that banked in three after some of the really deep threes they were making. I thought Puk played well inside and the defense was solid.

 

I heard that Great Danes love to eat some Gator! LET'S DO IT!

So, the plane to Orlando leaves after midnight..... so I assume both winning teams tonight will be on that flight.

2. Good luck to the NEC dealing with that nonsense for the next few years.

3. Probably a game Sam will remember forever but like to forget as well.

4. DJ came up big in the biggest game of his life.

And let me say, that may have been Will's finest "composure" coaching game, ever. Years ago he would have screamed, yelled, yanked, benched, and regularly gave his team, coaches, and fans heart failure. He remained so composed...even though I'm sure his stomach was turning with each Turnover.

I thought the same exact thing several times during the game. In the past Sam would've been benched and yelled at. I guess he is growing as a coach as well. His remark during the press conference after the championship game about trusting these guys was awesome.

Huge win. I have to admit I was nervous. I'm glad we started with a First Four game.

I think our charter flight leaves tonight at midnight:30 or so. A lot of travel for this team this week.

 

Rough night for Sam but a credit to this team that they won with him having struggling a little. How flippin awesome was it to be the first team to have a game. We had tons of highlights afterwards, breakdowns, and the whole shabang.

 

We are looking to be Cinderella and we're going to Disney World!

I'm rewatching the game with a cooler head now...wow is the Mount a scary team. In a sense that they are completely undisciplined...horrible basketball that if they got hot like they did in stretches they can stay with a lot of teams or win but if the shots aren't falling they don't really defend or rebound or do anything else. We had a lot of TO's today and got hurried a bit playing into their style but great effort to really pull it back and close them out on a 8-2 mini run.

 

No expectations against Florida...hopefully we can give them a scrap.
