I have really high hopes for Shanley based on his rating out of HS and the program he came from. I guess we'll know more once spring football starts.

This is D 1 football. Everyone should be good. This is the big leagues. I look at Harding as a non-factor. I'm sure he is a good kid...but with one year left...probably not winning the job.

 

I really think this is a competition between Shanley, Crook, and Will Brunson...but I think Will needs some weight and experience. Crook isn't "big-time" just because he went to Penn State. He still has to work his tail off and he has stiff competition. But, he's coming closer to home, and I am sure that factored into the decision. Also, we recruited Crook out of Barnstable High down on the Cape. So did 'Nova.

 

Notably, Crook beat out Austin Whipple (UMASS Head Coach Whipple's kid) for the backup role...and he transferred to UMASS.

Read up on him a bit. Looks like he was a late bloomer which is why he was under recruited.

I was really hoping we would land Mencer. He's got HUGE upside. We were the first Division 1 school to offer. I've got some WPIAL friends...and they like him. He's a tough, physical, and shifty back.

 

This is a very good find for Gattuso's staff.
