It's also nice to have a win over #9 Yale.

Yale for many bracketologists are in the 12-13 slot. That is where RPI comes into play and has been hurting the America East for many years.

The highest seed the America East had recently was in 2007 when Albany was a 13. Since then it's been 16's, sprinkled with a few 15 seeds.

I know I earlier said "One game at a time" but after the SBU and UVM wins I had to start thinking that, if we run the table and win the tournament, we'd be going into Selection Sunday on a 20-game winning streak. That ought to help seeding a little.

But again, first things first. Got to guard against irrational exuberance.

Up to #17... (225 points)

Convincing wins in the AE tournament and we might be able to pull off a #14 seed and have a half way decent shot at making some noise in the tournament.

Other teams of UA interest:

  • Yale is #12 with 434 points (probably UAs biggest win of the season)
  • Iona is #16 (top in the MAAC) with 283 points
  • Buffalo entered the poll at #21 with 122 points (some poster on the TU blog is always rambling on how Buffalo is the class of upstate NY this year with the highest RPI)
  • Stony Brook got 14 points
  • Bucknell got 5 points (and beat UA early season)
  • NJIT got 1 point
  • Vermont got 0 points (I think they were tougher than NJIT)
  • Siena got 0 points (which is too many)

Yet Buffalo is #33 in the RPI! Craziness!
