Wasn't sure where to put this. Article from Albany Business Review about th impact of the national attention.

UAlbany hoops pays off big before NCAA tournament begins

I don't know where they get their numbers, and I wish people wouldn't use "17,000" for Albany. Our undergraduate enrollment is just under 13,000 and nobody counts grad students as part of the core student population - they don't pay athletics fees. The Norman Campus has 21,000 undergrads and 6000 graduates - considerably larger than Albany

Pretty accurate preview of the danes except for the 'zone heavy philosophy'.

and they also wrote this... As the husband of someone fighting breast cancer (and after 1 year - a survivor) I could see someone getting upset at this error. (although I am not one of them - obviously not a PC guy)

"Junior guard Peter Hooley hit the game-winning three-pointer with 1.6 second remaining in the America East tournament final last Saturday just weeks after losing his mother to breast cancer. "

Watched the video from the SI link above. Shocked to see how similar our stats were to the them in terms of PPG, opp ppg, ft%, 3p% etc. Granted, their stats are against much tougher competition, but interesting to note.

Wonder if we will see a lot of zone, given that OU isn't the greatest shooting team.

Woa- looks like they are airing a commercial nationally, awesome!!! Here is an email I received from the Athletics Dept:

It has been an amazing few days for UAlbany! Coach Abe and Coach Brown have successfully led their teams back to the NCAA tournament. This is the fourth consecutive year for the women and the third for the men.

The 13th seeded women’s team will play Duke at noon on Friday in Durham, N.C., at Cameron Indoor Stadium, and the game will be televised live on ESPN2. The 14th seeded men’s team will face Oklahoma at 7:27 p.m. on Friday at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on TruTV and on ESPN Pacific Rim in Australia.

We wanted to give you a sneak peek at the UAlbany commercial that will be airing nationally this weekend.

Whether you are traveling to the games, watching at one of the Alumni Associationviewing parties or at home, show your support for the Great Danes by wearing your purple proudly on Friday!

It has been an incredible first six months for me as athletic director at UAlbany. I look forward to many more exciting memories with our student athletes, coaches, staff, alumni and Capital Region fans.

Go Great Danes!

Best regards,

Mark Benson

Here is the commercial (not "Uniforms")
