Why were we using a player with a long stick (defenseman) in our faceoffs in the second half? LAX players around me were speculating that we were conceding losing the initial faceoff with the hope to win an ensuing scrum (loose ball off the faceoff). Any thoughts on the long stick?

I don't know anything about LAX but that's clearly what it looked like. Gotta do what works. But jeez - glaring deficiency.
