GDG and I went last year. It's a great fundraiser, ton of food and silent auction items and a great cause supporting JP. LaCrosse and Basketball teams come and support JP as well.

Presenting The Wide World of Sports III Nov. 9, 2015 @ The Century House Latham, NY 5 8 PM

 

Tickets Price - $40, children 12 and under are FREE

 

Two years ago at age 10 Jay and Donna Honsingers little boy was diagnosed with Nieman Pick Type C Disease. This is a rare, cruel and fatal genetic, neurodegenerative disorder which causes progressive deterioration of the nervous system. Children with this disease usually do not live to adulthood.

 

The Honsinger family and friends, refuse to passively accept this fate and are doing everything they can to fight it by raising as much as they can for research so a treatment can be found. We need your help.

 

Come to our event, bring your family and friends. We have partnered with 501c3 Chase the Cure. Chase is a little boy also suffering with this disease. This non-profit was set up to get treatments out of the labs and into the patients who need it to save this generation of NP-C Kids including JP.

At this event you will enjoy your favorite stadium food while listening to the music of DJ Krazy Keith, do a little holiday shopping at our Silent Auction, visit with JP and some of his teammates from UAlbany Lacrosse and Basketball and Shen Basketball and Baseball teams.

Wow that article was hard to read. My son is the same age as JP and I can't even imagine what this family is going through. I am so glad that our university can do something to brighten this families life even a little bit.

As a father of four I couldn't help but think about my own kids and family. My heart goes out to him and his parents. What a terrible disease...heartbreaking and difficult to read.
