Coaches Cure CF

Coaches Cure CF was started in 2011 by Kevin Willard, Head Coach of the Seton Hall Pirates Men’s Basketball Team, and Pat Lyons, Athletic Director of Seton Hall in conjunction with the Tarletsky family. It was created to bring awareness of cystic fibrosis to the college basketball community in a similar manner to that which Coaches vs. Cancer has achieved for cancer. To date UAlbany, Seton Hall, Iona, Holy Cross and Providence have participated in Coaches Cure CF. All funds raised benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

What Is Cystic Fibrosis?

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that can clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections and may obstruct the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food. Breakthrough treatments have added years to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis. Today the median predicted survival age is close to 40. This is a dramatic improvement from the 1950s, when a child with CF rarely lived long enough to attend elementary school.

On radio Will says he is playing %, so he may have his guys 10ft off of Walker, Warney he is going mix it up. He said he may force them to take jump shots to keep ball out of the paint. And play the percentages of those guys who don't normally hit many 3s and hope they don't go off. Hoping for a good student turn out.

So many story lines to play up when marketing this game. If it isn't a sell out crowd it will be extremely sad.

SBU's first visit to Albany since the Hooley shot

SBU undefeated in league play this year, and owners of the longest winning streak in all of D1.

UA undefeated at home this year and last home loss was to SBU one year ago.

Match 1 had UA up 1 with under a minute to play.

Last year SBU ruined UA's undefeated record in league play in mid February in Albany.

Second to last regular season home game for UA's three best players.

Last visit to Albany for a potential NBA Draft pick

Hopefully the place will be as loud as it was for the Purple Growl game...

Only 200 tickets left and a very good chance at a sell out. I for one did not expect this especially after the tough loss to UNH. The buy one get one tonight for next Saturday definitely helped. Good job by the athletic department.
