OK, one of these I can take as part of the expected fallout . . . but any more than this, and I might start to get worried.

This is why there needs to be a coach in place ASAP. This was not a rebuild for the team but it may turn into one. UA granting the release indicates that they are not even close to naming a coach.

UA granting the release indicates that they are not even close to naming a coach . . . either out of paranoia or dread or just an ol' reporter's curiosity, I check the Central Florida athletics site daily to see if any/all of Coach Abe's assistants are going with her (especially Balerio), but there's been nothing new since all the hiring hoopla . . . even if it's not one of the assistants, surely Benson et al have ONE or TWO or THREE specific people in mind??!!

I believe she has also indicated online that she has moved to Orlando.

Why would the AD grant a release before giving the next coach a chance at keeping a top recruit?

 

1) A new coach will not be in place in the next week or two so it gives the recruit time before the final signing date of May 18.

Signing day was today. Until today she had only verballed. Does the school even need to give a release if the LOI hasn't been signed yet?

Is this going to be Benson's first head coach hire? If so..perhaps he's being extra diligent because of it. I think the search has really been over a month now..because we heard he was already putting together a potential candidate list shortly after the Maine championship game.

You really can't blame the girl for backing out. She signed on with a dynamic, hard driving proven championship coach and might wind up with ???? The new one may be good too, but

it'll be a very tough act to follow.
