Kaloyeros Charged

UAFAN

SUNY Poly is searching for a president. SUNY Albany is searching for a president. The two schools have a shared history and are located across the street from each other.

Hmmm. Maybe it's time to merge the schools back?

So did Kaloyeros ever hold the position of professor explicitly for SUNY Poly? If not, then the title he should bump back down to should be physics professor...at the University at Albany.....

I've read that his employment letter specifically notes it as a tenured professor of nanoscale science and engineering at SUNY Poly..not UAlbany.

Kaloyeros' resignation, legal woes may cost him millions

TU+ story,

State University of New York officials appear poised to fight efforts by Alain Kaloyeros to return to the SUNY Polytechnic Institute faculty or allow him any role in managing research grants for the school
SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher and SUNY Chairman H. Carl McCall appear to be doing everything in their power to stop Kaloyeros from working at SUNY Poly again.
In a joint statement last week, McCall and Zimpher said they "are evaluating (Kaloyeros') request to return to his faculty position" while moving forward with an investigation into his "practices and actions" as described in parallel criminal complaints filed by U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara and state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.
Under the terms of his 2015 appointment as president of SUNY Poly by the SUNY board of trustees, Kaloyeros is allowed to "automatically" resume his teaching duties if he quit his job as president.
But SUNY officials won't say how they plan to block Kaloyeros from returning to teaching, although they could move to fire him, which SUNY can do, even to tenured faculty.
If SUNY were to allow Kaloyeros to return to the faculty at SUNY Poly, it's questionable if he would still be paid money from the SUNY Research Foundation as well.
"It's too early to comment at this time," SUNY spokeswoman Holly Liapis said
