Albany hopped in front of DU to. #7 in the RPI after the win last night. Interesting based upon the NCAA's initial top 10, RPI doesn't' seem to be the number one criteria this year. Looks like Albany has to run the table to host a tournament game. Latest bracket projections the Danes at Homewood against Hopkins.

And now closer to #5 (Ohio State) than #8.

Was also our 7th true road win of the season. Only one other team in the country..Monmouth..has at least 6.

Quint Kessenich: Faceoff specialist can put clamp on title plans

TD Ierlan (Albany): The three-sport star from Victor, N.Y, has been impressive in his initial campaign, showing a rare versatility of style and technique. Ierlan (71 percent and seven points) showcased a variety of stances (standing and down on one knee), hand placement (underhand and motorcycle grip) and counters in a one-goal loss to Maryland.

"If I were to list five qualities that TD possesses that separate him from most, they would be – humble, competitiveness, relentless work ethic on and off field, ability to adapt during the game and mental strength," Albany coach Scott Marr said. This freshman grasps the nuances. Albany (10-2) faces Yale (8-3) on Saturday.

What a game! I too gave up on them at 9-5. Was figuring out what the Inside Lacrosse pundits were going to say about UA, maybe not as good as they thought, can not win against the good teams, etc. Now just close out Hartford, don't screw up the AE tourney and we have to be top 8. Of course that is great but still not high enough. We win an 8/9 matchup and you get the 1 seed, probably the Cuse. But with the results around the nation today, teams in front of us may play themselves behind us in the last 2 weeks and we move up. First things first, run the next 3 games.

Don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but a first round home game would be amazing. Even if they got Cuse in the next round at least it would be on a neutral field and not in the Dome. Probably at Hofstra I would think. Again, understand there is a long way to go, but we should dream big, right?
