I haven't seen this posted anywhere but the coaches voted to eliminate the 8/9 game which has not been need the last 4 season as UMass-Lowell has been transitioning to Division 1. Also the playoffs this year will span 8 days as opposed the 11 the last two season. The Quarterfinals will be on March 3, the semis will be on March 6 and the championship will be on March 10.

Holding these America East meetings in Georgia makes total sense.

Good...I expect the following year to be at SEFCU

In the world where they have:   Won 428 games to 206 Losses since 1998.   That's an average of 22.5 W and 10.8 L per year   Their worst season in that 19 year period is a .500 record.   They

Should be a fun atmosphere when they split the arena. It took almost 20 years but I'm glad it happened.

So whomever finishes the seasons in the 9th hole is game over for the year! Not bad!

Hopefully opening up against a quality opponent helps with attendance. Iona has a lot of new players this season so playing them early might be an advantage as they will probably still be trying to gel as a team.

Call me a negative nelly, but I don't think it will help that much. Albany area people are snobs. Our best attendance years were when we went 15-1 in conference. The years after the team made the tournament. Win the first few games against quality opponents then the attendance will come. Make it to the round of 32 or the sweet 16 and the attendance will come.

Siena only has higher attendance because their alumni stay in the area in much higher numbers, and as a smaller private school they feel more connected by college.

Again, win and they will come.

And LCC attendance has dropped(I vaguely remember them claiming they were in the top 60, I don't care or remember how many years ago). If they continue to lose, it will continue to drop.

Didn't we just host a lacrosse game with the highest attendance for that round.

Most people don't go to as many games as I do, but they often go to more games when the team wins.

So again I don't worry about the attendance of any of our teams. Just hope they are all successful and that as many people come to as many sports as often as they can. I let the people working in the athletic department worry about the particulars.

They peaked ranked 66-68 at 7500-7800 attendance from 2009-11. But they haven't been within 1000 of that in the last six seasons. Even at the top they only had one out of 110 people in the Albany Metro area, so it's not like they've got a monopoly in the market.

Also out of about 20 D-I schools in New York we're behind only Syracuse, St. John's, Siena, St. Bonny, Buffalo and slightly below Stony Brook, who had a new arena. When you consider that none of our league opponents except Vermont bring more than 25 fans (we're #2 in our league) it's a tough haul. We draw more than Fordham, an A-10 team.
