2nd half meltdown and we should never count UVM out after probably their poorest 1st half of season. Knew they would be better in 2nd half and we got punched in mouth AGAIN. 20 for 20 at line didnt help us.

This game was stolen from us by the officiating. I know,I know, you can't blame the stripes for a loss. Some bad luck shooting which always leads to lax D in the second ½ was the statistical reason we lost. But it just seemed call after bad call just seemed to take the steam out of the team. The bravado, the desire, the execution which we showed for pretty much the first 30 minutes seemed to slip away possession by possession. Call me crazy but you could even feel it in the crowd, the fatalistic attitude that we were not going to win this game, no matter how hard/well we played. Vermont is good, but I feel we really out played them today. The discrepancy in fouls was most definitely the difference. You can blame poor play by UA if you want I guess; but I did not see it that way for the most part. Enough rant. I guess we have to find away to get up to burlington to break their hearts and send them to the nit.

Officiating was surreal. I don't know any other way to put it.

Tough decision with Foster late in the game. He was a difference maker on defense for big stretches and I would have like to see him in late.

For impartial viewers on ESPNU, that was probably a great game to watch.

Not really worried about a Vermont rematch. I'm hoping this team can refocus on Hartford on Sunday. That was an emotional, draining loss and they only have a few days to put it behind them.

Next game. That is all. We'll be seeing VT in the Semi's...

ESPNU announcers were pretty great. It's amazing how terrible the 'local' guys are compared to the guys who get paid to travel the country and call games. Especially when you have former coaches of big time programs on the call who've coached guys like Chris Paul, etc.

We are two games out of 2nd...beat Hartford who still has to play uvm... And we are in the thick of it.

Play like tonight and they will win the rest of the games this regular season.

Not sure how their guards get so many uncontested drives to the basket against us. And after a few backdoors, you'd think we'd catch on and adjust.

And their big men seem to back down our defender at will.. maybe we should be double teaming.

Yeah, that was a terrible pass by Charles. Not even in the same zip code as Joe.

That being said, David has been playing much better the last two games (really the last 3-4 but specifically the last two). I truly think he might have been forcing the issue all season trying to become a 1K point scorer and not that he has it he's just ballin and letting the game flow. 6 assists in back to back games...1 turnover in back to back games. Shooting basically 50%, averaging 17.5. This is the David we have been waiting for. When that kid is on...he's incredible.

Pretty sure Foster threw that pass but I may be wrong.

I also thought our big defended pretty well in the post. There were more times where UVM player tried to make a move and had to pass out because he wasn't getting anywhere. I wonder what the points in the paint were for both teams. Theirs might be skewed because their guards go so many layups.

UA shot 4 for 20 {20%} from the field in the last 11 or so minutes. Most of the shots were NOT bad shot selection. Call it great vt D, poor UA shooting/execution or just bad luck. The officiating yesterday was horrendous. Bad calls, no calls, phantom calls BOTH ways. One or two of those bad calls go are way instead of the other, we win the game. I just refuse to believe vt is really a better basketball team than UA.

ps UA was called for an in bound violation yesterday. Watch any game and you will see in bounds violation a large number of times, {I would guess maybe even 20-30% of the time teams do not fully take the ball out and in bound it properly.} It is called maybe once a year or never????
