Why would they have a problem with it if the free seats for local basketball players and their families (from every level, from YMCA to High School) get to sit in the student section during home games over breaks when no students are around. It is the perfect opportunity to possibly create some new fans and at least get parking revenue. It would be different if the suggestion was normal paid seats. I'm only suggesting the seats that are already free to students anyway.

Thought you meant regular seats, but either way it’s not enforced where you sit other than chair backs.

Get a few 9 year olds on the dance Cam, have them catch a T-shirt, and they will want to go back.

So many people claim that the increase in ticket prices plus the increase in parking has priced people out of the arena. This is an easy way to get some more people through the gates getting rid of any price concerns, hopefully creating some new fans. $3 kids tickets are great and all, but people have to see the advertisement for it and then actually go online and buy tickets.

I say go to the YMCA, CYA, JCC, every middle and high school, find the coaches and hand them a stack of tickets that say good for free seating in the baseline seating section for the first 1000 fans to show up. If by some miracle more than 1000 show up, then sell them cheap seats. No one is going to show up and then not enter because the free seats are taken. Choose 3 different games that happen when the students are away on break. It would probably get people there early too. UA fans seem to always show up late, lol.

Anyway, that's my current suggestion to help attendance.

Maybe I was dreaming but the Manhattan team did pushups and crunches on the floor at halftime. I've never seen that before.

They should have tried that fierce Hawaiian (I think?) ritual dance thing. Maybe that would have helped.

Also some stretches, and a coach belly-bumped  one guy. Maybe they should've tried some war chants.

Someone in my section said that as well hah.

The parking costs have been what has kept me away. I'd like to go to every home game, but that adds up. I suppose the solution for me would have been to renew my season tickets (first time I did not in 13 years) and obtain a parking pass through GDAC donations?

GDAC members with season tickets get a SEFCU parking pass for no charge.

I have been a season ticket holder since day one and HAVE NO PROBLEM AT ALL sitting next to a "free bee" in the seat next to me.  Until someone steps up and buys that seat or any other GIVE THEM ALL AWAY FREE; maybe a few or hopefully many will eventually get hooked and come back as paying customers. If not, it is still more fun to be in a full house, even if half are there for free.

Going against the grain here but I thought that was alright. Manhattan pretty much makes games ugly.

We had some post touches and moved the ball a little on offense. Some nice minutes from Lauderdale.

Adam Lulka - Double double in points and rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks and a steal.

Not to butter up the boss here, but I have too agree with DP. I thought UA played pretty well overall [still to many to's and stone hands] and competed with a team playing ugly and as "desperate" for a win as us. Coach sounded almost "giddy" with praise and enthusiasm after the game. I would not go that far, but knowing Brown, I think he was just trying to instill/hope this game brings some confidence going forward.

T-U story about a game played "in front of the only 1,412 people in the Capital Region who weren't out Christmas shopping". Focus on the foul discrepancy.

"Whether the foul discrepancy from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference-assigned crew should have been what it was depended on the sideline you occupied.

"When you take 58 field-goal attempts and the other team only takes 40," said Manhattan coach Steve Masiello, measuring his words, "and the other team takes 20 3s and you only take 18, you're taking 16 more twos and you got to the line 13 times to their 35, that's what hurts you.

"I have no problem if you call it tightly. You look at the numbers ... We throw the ball inside almost every play. It just happened. One of those nights. Whistles didn't go your way. That's life on the road. I guess."

My take is they got the fouls because they play defense like it's a rugby game.
