[MBB] Game #31: 3/5/19 - 7:00PM @ Binghamton

Here is the thing on Clark . He is the ONLY person on the team that can dribble and break down a defense. When Healy is the point he is far far far less effective. We need a point guard and unless they bring in someone better, he will be playing a ton again next year.

Kendall is a decent offensive big man but he is terrible against the high ball screen. Several wide open looks because of him . If he does not learn to play defense he will play the same 10 mins next year at most .

I think he's been OK recently with a bad shot here or there but it happens to everyone. Last night 14pts, 5ast and 1to...people see blood in the water on him and go crazy for one bad shot. As long as he isn't turning it over 5 times a game I'm OK even with the occasional crazy. Healy is not a PG, can't break down the D.

Blocks per minute played, only counting conference play, all players with at least 10 blocks in conference action:

Edit: Not sure why one of the cells pasted with a highlight. Very Strange.

With all these advanced stats, can someone explain the reasoning behind starting Hank? I know I've said starting doesn't mean anything and it's about who's on the floor when the game ends, but this one I don't get. Is it just his size they want in there?

Yeah Hank has been a huge disappointment thus far. He's a foul machine. That's it. Hopefully this summer does wonders for him.

He was always a project, what exactly did you expect out of him? He should be a serviceable big by the time he's a junior.

I guess I remember all three Aussies being highly touted...

I don't remember Hank being highly touted but I may be wrong.  I remember most of the talk being about Lulka and Healy but also remember hearing 3 very good Aussies but never really remember hearing Hank being at the same level as the other two. Hopefully he will grow into a Puk type player and understand how to not foul so much.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Maybe not 'highly touted' (wrong choice of words) but 'very good' for sure. He hasn't been very good. He hasn't even been just 'good'.

Hope this summer he makes a big jump and next year is more servicable.

Hank has been more or less what I expected. He's been more valuable than he gets credit for against teams where he has someone his size to guard - Monmouth, Niagara, SB, Vermont. He struggles against a bunch of conference teams that play undersized big men and Hank has to dance around on the three point line with them. He might end up being more Blake Metcalf than John Puk but we'll see.
