You would "think" the posting would have included something of a desire to upgrade said facility???????

People that need to know will know and see project plans as to what they are signing up for.

I'd assume when the original contract is done, SEFCU can either walk or negotiate a new price.

Athletic & Special Events Center? Somebody forget it's the Recreation And Convocation Center?

Some time ago there was a lively discussion about sefcu renovations... The rfp that went out for design etc. Does anyone know where that thread is or if anything has happened with that rfp? I know some of the posters have access to NYS procurement and bidding site. Rfp definitely went out if I recall. Anyone got anything on this?

As for the thread where the RFP was mentioned, it was this one (by above named associate). Starts on page 5 it looks like:

It's funny this was posted. My 2 points of contacts:My uncle who moved on a federal credit union and his good friend (family friend) retired this January.  However I asked him right around the time of the stony brook (home) game and he said he would find out.

I'll ask again.

I don’t know about the RFP but President Rodriguez and his staff just completed a series of Alumni meetings in Florida and the topic of athletic facilities came up.  There wasn’t a specific answer but he did say the recent discussions had three phases.  Phase 1 was new seating in SEFCU, phase 2 was renovating the pool area to give more space to the varsity athletes - not sure what that means and i don’t remember the third phase.  There was a UAlbany overall presentation and discussion and it sounded like the athletic facility meetings just occurred so I don’t know how defined everything is  but sounds like there are some ideas and someone (Benson?) has priorities.

Man, that seems like lipstick on a pig...hopefully it's more then this.

Not sure where to find more details on the PhysEd renovations. This is from State University Construction Fund.

According to the NYS Contract Report, the naming rights were awarded to SEFCU again on 6/6/19

http://www.nyscr.ny.gov/adsArchive.cfm?numID=2053857

The Athletic Media Rights RFP does not appear to have ever been awarded:

http://www.nyscr.ny.gov/adsArchive.cfm?numID=2037546

And the RFP for the design services for the arena renovations seems to have disappeared. I am sure I will find it, just cant right now

I finally got in touch with my uncle and he said the renovation is still in the planning stages but is moving forward. He does not know a lot about UAlbany in general but stated that there is still a major project that needs to be completed before they put the full court press on the sefcu. Could that be the PE renovations? Does anymore know if that is still going on  (and what kind of progress) ?

In light of the current state of the NYS budget, the SEFCU Arena and Alumni Gym may have to wait another year.

Benson 's tone about budget with Roger, left me feeling there are some tough choices to be made.
