mbb 2019 Game #9: 12/4/19 - 7:30PM vs Yale

Look at the stats. Everything is even, but the team is down 10 with 6:36 left. It's all piss poor three point shooting.

Just when I thought the team was playing well, this 2nd half shows up.  Clark 3 of 14, 1 of 7 from three.  Rizzuto 0 of 5 for zip and 1 assist.

I feel bad for Rizzuto.  He seems like a really good kid but he is having a terrible season offensively. No sure what the coaches are seeing in him at this point.

The bigs, Hansen, Hank, Lauderdale played well I think.  That Atkinson was a handful and could have dropped 30 if they didn't play well and they gave us some offense but Clark and Rizzuto were of no help tonight.  De Sousa would have helped.  CB had a short bench tonight.

First off the team was short handed, missing a couple of key players. With that being said I did not think they played poorly. 

HOWEVER : Rizzuto played 33 minutes , was 0-5 from the field,  1 rebound and 1 assist. Ladies and Gentlemen that is absolutely atrocious.  There is not a word in the English language to describe his performance.  I'm sorry.  He seems like a great kid. However he should be playing 10 minutes a game . If he gets into a rhythm then he can play more.  All I can say is WOW.

Awful.. This kid is a mess. Jojo needs to start asap. Can't be any worse...

Perhaps Clark and Rizzuto should do more practicing and less tweeting.

I'm done with this team. I'll go to the games and watch the games but I'm done losing my voice for this years version of the team. Awful rotations, leaving wide open shooters. Completely falling asleep.

I thought they played pretty well today. Just some key kids are a big liability right now. Need Jojo back asap... And rizzuto bench. Guy is tough to watch when he can't make a shot which has been often this year.

I thought Rizzuto played good defense.  No one shot the three ball very well.  Actually the whole yeam played pretty good D.  Hansen was a little slow closing out the three, but imho the defensive effort was pretty good.

I agree. Yale just beat UVM by 13, their only losses are to Penn St and Oklahoma St. They are a very good team and we hung with them most of the game even though we shot terribly from 3 and they shot great from 3.

He did play good defense . I will paraphrase will brown - I cant have someone on the court who cant score the ball. Not only did he not score in 33 minutes but he had 1 rebound and 1 assist.  U should fall into more than 1 rebound in 33 minutes .

And Yale played 10. It was a five point game with a couple of minutes left and I thought the guards in particular seemed worn down. It might not have mattered because Yale is good but it didn't help to have five guys in warm-ups on the bench. 

One positive was we clearly had a game plan to defend their big guy and we seemed to execute it really well. When I watched UVM vs. Yale I thought Brunner was pretty compartable to Anthony Lamb skill-wise. The difference is, Brunner is playing along Atkinson who is dominant inside. Some of our open threes were a result of having to collapse down on him.

If I had to rank our guys toughness-wise, I'd start with Hank and Hutcheson easily.

Before people totally pile on Rizzuto, I have to point out that he did go 5-7 from 3 and 6-9 from the floor in the American game.
