KInda a stretch....no, not kinda, a gigantic leap into the silly abyss.  Marquette's issues were HC related.

No leap or stretch...both our D1 schools...yes the stretch is we went with someone with no head coaching experience...At least in the short term...Marquette has moved the pile forward quickly...I have hope that UAlbany will succeed sooner vs. later

Was Killings paid by Marquette to make all the adjustments, manage the budget, manage the staff, manage the support staff, and be the point person to coach all the players, in addition to being the primary point person in the community?  NO.  So how is his leaving tied to Marquette's growth this year.

If you knew ANYTHING, even a scintilla about Marquette hoops, you would full well know that talent was absolutely NOT an issue.  Killings was directly responsible for that aspect of the Marquette program, uniformly lauded within the industry.  What we all say, and is very much agreeable, is that he was not in charge of X and O's and at this point, some are questioning those coaching "chops".  Let's see if he grows in that department...I think he will.

However, he was NOT responsible for X's and O's at Marquette and therefore your premise that Marquette is better this year and Killings is not there this year, so that is a direct correlation, has literally ZERO logical or evidentiary support...and is pure hyperbole.  What is more relevant is a universally held belief by those that coach, comment, cover, and watch Division I basketball that the ACTUAL HEAD COACH was not well liked and was pretty bad at combining talent and a game plan.

This whole idiotic notion that Marquette is better this season because Killings left with no mention of they fired the head coach is so asinine and stupid that it boggles the mind.  As if THAT is the reason for their improvement and not an entirely new staff...you could maybe make this stupid argument if only Killings left. Can't believe we have to repeatedly keep reading this horse$iena.

The reality is this is nothing more than fans of the old regime looking to throw the new guy under the bus as soon as humanly possible...15 games in and it's see, told you, should have kept Brown. And no, no amount of pretending that you want Killings to succeed is gonna erase what is plainly obvious. People can talk out the both sides of their mouth all they want.
