I think it has more to do with winning in the tournament. Trina won a few games in the tournament and got an extension. She had players and coaches leave the program too and she got an extension after the season she won in the tournament. Don't be fooled. It's all about winning and bringing in the bucks. This is D1 athletics. Follow the money. Vermont will not be as strong this year and maybe the team will be hosting this year.

Beeten was hired by McElroy. It was his first hire as AD.

Look at the new president. He is everywhere. I think he will be a great uniter on campus. He is a good manager. To get the money you need for these facilities you need to get out and meet the little people. Lee does not come off as a hands on manager. He leads by fear. The writer was dead on. It is all smoke and mirrors.

People don't write these letters without some motivation. It's obvious to me that he brings out the worst in some people. I don't think this is good for fundraising. Especially if you want to build a new complex. Is he a divider or uniter?

Maybe Singlaies should look into what McElroy has done in the past at his other stints as athletic director. He might have this pattern from other jobs. I think Will saved his butt when he had to fire Beeten. Will has done a nice job and should be rewarded. It is a scary thought to think that they would have to search for another coach. He did a terrible job the last time with Beeten.

Get out your checkbooks if you want to see this happen. I guarantee that the state is not going to foot the bill for this unless Joe Bruno can have the stadium named for him.

Sometimes I think they like to schedule the games regionally when they can. I don't think RPI matters to much. The America East Conference is not strong enough.

Scott Marr is a great coach period. He knows how to evaluate talent, coach and recruit. He also knows New York and has great connections in the state. I hope UAlbany can keep him around for a long time but it will be hard. This is where fundraising can help. It will offset the costs to keep him at UAlbany.
