  1. Hmmm Well no worries here, All this is just DEBATE anyways. So getting the Avg's and all that jazz from diff cities and univ's isn't going to really change anyone's mind now is it? Like I said "No Worries" cuz I'm a UA TnF Alum and will ALWAYS support my team whether they have a 13 meter triangular plastic track or a state of the art track. Bottom line it's all about showing love for your fellow sports and athletes. There'll ALWASY be $$$ issues and people will always have varying and diff opinions as to how $$ should be used and on what. So no point in me coming on here and bashing my head on a forum and debating/arguing (chose your style) about things that are more or less (Unless you folk know something I don't) are outta my hands. He Shoots, He....
  2. Without getting too DEEP into this discussion, I'd like to simply add one or two things. On the debate/topic about BIG Universities (ie. Stanford) that don't have an INDOOR track...well my reply to that is simply: Have you seen their version of "WINTER"? Also TCU, Tenn. and I can't remember the other schools that were mentioned don't exactly have THE harshes WINTERS out there. Those points are a big consideration that should be taken into acount when throwing out big time univ's w/out an indoor track or even a decent one. I'm in no way taking a side on the current issue, just thought it SHOULD be known that some of the aformentioned school's idea of WINTER = 55-65 degree weather, therefor making it pretty easy to be outdoors year around. Now with that said, let the debates continue....!
  3. G'day Mates... I'm also a FORMER UA Track Alum...I'm sure it won't take MANY too long to realize who I'm based on the name. Eitherway I'm stoked to know that there's a site like this out there. I had no idea one existed while I was in college. Anyways as a FORMER member of SAAC, I tackled many topics meeting after meeting. This one -Team Respect/Recognition- was always one of them. I believe one thing that would/will help is having athletes from different teams get to know each other a lot better. In my time @ UA I went to just about every sporting event I could when I had the time...and I"m SERIOUS about that too. The only sad part, was that I still wouldn't know many of the athletes I cheered on, because apart from seeing them every now and then on my way to class, we -UAlbany Athletic Deparpment- didn't have enough (or any?) sports/athlete building events where we got to know each other. I believe if you have friends from OTHER sports, you'd be more likely to go out and support their games. MY SPORT: Track n Field aka "Athletics" has never been one to get TOO much "LOVE" @ the HS level, college or even Pro's. That's just something us "Trackies" have come to get used to, what we can hope for at best, is just recognition from our peers, which I think has improved a great deal @ UA, especially in the past few years that we've been successful. So keep up the good work to all UA Athletes and....THE END Peace n Love Ps- G'luck to the Trackies @ the AmEast Champs
