So, the good news is Oneonta doesn't seem to be on the schedule for next year. However, Potsdam has us listed for a game for Nov 19. Also Quinnipiac released their schedule and we're at their place on Fri, Nov 22.
Quinnipiac is part of an MTE. Albany is also going to play Presbyterian and Sacred Heart there that weekend

Maybe that is why the game was played yesterday. I am sure the original schedule had oneonta on November 6.
It could be that the game counts differently towards the number of games a team can play in a season if it is part of an exempt tournament. Also there probably is an amount of time the start and finish of an exempt tournament.
Just my best guess.
You are right on both guesses.

Albany is at Kent State on 12/28 and at Niagara on 12/31

Conference schedule has been released.

UA will be playing at Providence on Dec 18

I think Holy Cross owes UA a home game.
I believe Bryant was a one off as part of the Gotham classic

The loss to Monmouth was also since the last poll which explains the drop

These games are good prep for teams like UNH and UML that their big guys shooting beyond the three point line. I'm really hoping to see a healthy David Nichols tonight. The wrist looked like it bothered him shooting from the line and in game the other night.
It must be really bad, it affected everyone's foul shooting!
The rest of the team shot just over 76% of their free throws which is on par with their season average.

Brown did mention on the radio today possibly going the grad transfer route again for a front court player

You do realize that BC finished with a 219 RPI in the high profile ACC (that's almost impossible to do, when the whole conference is just about double digit RPIs or less).
You are pointing out the exceptions, no major power conference team is coming to SEFCU
I realize that Boston College has much greater name recognition than almost everyone on our bball schedule, excluding the obvious.
Isn't it all about name recognition and being associated with those programs somehow?
As for the football side of things, playing bc would be a no-brainer.
Are you saying BC, with a 219 rpi in bball, would make starting a home and home series in both sports not worth it?
I don't know what terms BC and Hartford agreed to but I seriously doubt that it is a straight up home and home series. Hartford will probably have to play at BC multiple times and probably at a lower payout than a typical guaranteed game if there is any payout.

Will Monmouth and Iona play at SEFCU the following year?
The Iona game is at SEFCU this season. I don't what year the Monmouth return game will be but it is usually the following season.

I haven't seen this posted anywhere but the coaches voted to eliminate the 8/9 game which has not been need the last 4 season as UMass-Lowell has been transitioning to Division 1. Also the playoffs this year will span 8 days as opposed the 11 the last two season. The Quarterfinals will be on March 3, the semis will be on March 6 and the championship will be on March 10.

Should be a great game! High quality and recognizable opponent for the (presumably) season and home opener on a Friday night.
It will be the opener. The college basketball season begins on the second Friday in November. The NCAA is looking into moving that up to the Tuesday before the second Friday in November starting the 2018-19 season.

Hopefully opening up against a quality opponent helps with attendance. Iona has a lot of new players this season so playing them early might be an advantage as they will probably still be trying to gel as a team.

NYC Buckets has Iona at UA. Strong mid-major game on the schedule.
http://www.nycbuckets.com/2017/06/non-conference-schedule-tracker-release/#more-28639
By my count, that would put UA at 11 games so 4 more non conference games than can be scheduled. Hopefully one more guaranteed game and another quality mid major.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it looks like Oneonta is on the schedule again.
