Why are we offering this guy who has only 1 year left? He is not very dominant on his hudl film. The more disturbing thing is how the Georgetown RT #77 doesn't look too good and we offered him as well. At least he has 2 years left.
No idea. Good question though. Don't agree on Georgetown player, #78 in the film by the way. Very quick feet for a big man and follows through on his block pretty well.

Couple of comments:
1) All things considered, i would have thought we lost more. Mildly surprised. Verse was likely going anyway unless we rose to JMU level.
2) If it is Ambrose, Joey Carino fits quite well as his game is much like Tommy Flacco's. Ambrose was the OC when Flacco lit up the CAA.
Mauro Monz WAS on there but is not tonight??????

With the exception of Verse who is going big time as predicted the majority of transfers are below Albany. Robert Morris and several with no schooL in place. One transfer on the same level (Villanova.-Towson) I bet you see a couple stay with UA. Even money says Undercuffler stays with Albany.
I would have liked to see GG bring in some high quality asst coaches. He has 3 years now. If we get the guy from Delaware he will be coming with players!
I would guess that hiring is not over yet. Likely waiting until after the first to announce Ambrose if he is it. I would also think the new OC would have a LOT of input into a new OLine coach. Just my thoughts on it.

Funny, but the Eastern Illinois announcement didn’t mention the UA complete offensive train wreck of 2021. If Joe gets credit for all the 2019 success, he gets a lot of the blame for 2021.
I maintained this all season. May be a great QB coach but that does not necessarily transfer to OFF Coordinator. Incredibly boneheaded calls all the time. Have to know who your players are AND what to call when if the game plan is not working. And that MUST be planned out in advance. Looked like he was pulling them out of his ass some times. NOT prepared for situations OR for time management at all, how many TO's were called when the play should have been on the field already? That is the Offensive Coordinator not being prepared.

I agree with Dane96, my guess for Offensive Coordinator, Jared Ambrose from Delaware. No announcement but posted on twitter it was the family's last Christmas in Delaware AND all of the current coaching staff and a bunch of the players are on his follower list and he is following them.
Here is a short biography: Jared Ambrose started as a student assistant at NCAA II Shepherd, leading the team to a 29-5 record and three straight undefeated West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships.
He then was an assistant coach at Delaware, coaching on the offense and specifically Joe Flacco.
He then was at Towson for 10 years, and 7 as the team’s offensive coordinator. During his time with the Tigers, he was a part of three FCS Playoff appearances, including a run to the 2013 National Championship game.
He returned to Delaware as offensive coordinator for three years.

Not negative, just a joke, wouldn’t he be better served joining the track team and get coached by Coach Vives.
Interesting - Anybody who was state champ in all of those is special. I was a track coach for a long time too! typically they were great FB players!

I missed Mincey but the special teams were a wreck. Davis maybe a great QB coach but he is a poor OFF coordinator. His play selection was just terrible. No other way to say it. I liked Sweeney BUT I think the O line coach has to be able to kick some butt - he was really easy going....maybe too much so.
I never saw that Sweeney was that involved in the recruiting. He may have been but not as publicly as other coaches. I mean I check who they are "watching" all the time - may not mean anything but it is something I follow. You are correct that he states he is UMass RB coach!
I wonder if they are recruiting any more QB's. I know there are at least three on the roster but still another taller 'slinger' would be nice. Gonna have a decent group of WR next season.
I agree, Delaware’s Jared Ambrose may be the new line coach. Been doing a little research. a BUNCH of the players and the coaches are 'following' him!

Surprised by this outlook. Our office of line has been the Achilles’ heel of the team for many many years. Davis has a track record of offensive production at Northern Iowa, at Fordham, and a D2 school in Pennsylvania…. I can’t remember the name offhand. I understand getting rid of Davis’ based on last year‘s performance but Sweeney should’ve been gone a long time ago. A man actually seems like a really solid guy however, the office of line just never gelled nor had the studs we were promised. Damien Mincey is also off the coaching roster. He went back tp UMASS. I know that Nate Byham adds the oline to his current coaching duties. I’ve heard a rumor that Delaware’s former OC may be in line for the UA job. He’s interesting because he had a good track record prior to Delaware. Some blame him for Delaware’s issues. Others say he was handcuffed by Rocco.
