I see the score at the half, but my phone with 7 seconds to go said that ND had tied the score. What gives?

Did you mean Yog-Yurt and have it shaped like a cloth hut?
Also, excited to see how the turf looks with the new logos etc. It looked weird playing on turf with the old branding
What if they do a purplle field with gold endzones..
Yes, at the end I should have said "Go, Yurt."

It's a slow Monday, so I'm trying to increase some debate here.
I saw from the Times Union that Siena lost again at home yesterday, but the game still attracted 5,100 fans. My question concerns: Why would so many people attend a game when you have a 3-17 record? UA's record is not that great either, but you would have an approximately 50% chance of seeing the home team win. Are some of their fans ripe for poaching?

I enrolled at D3 SUNY Albany in 1993. I will admit for as much bitching as I can do that this university has come a long way athletically. They may have given up as much academically over those same years but that’s a comment for a different day.
Congratulations SUNY Albany
I started at Albany before you were born. I remember being excited when the school began a football program again. At that point it was only a club team. You newer guys are spoiled with the modern news coverage. After graduation, I lived a distance from Albany and had to search for a store that sold the Times-Union to discover what had happened with the basketball team the night before.

What a disaster!

I really thought that 20-point edge for South Dakota State was a joke.

The sport has been added already to the UAlbany Athletics website. Impressive!

Lo and behold, after noticing that our team always seems to be outblocked, UA led Temple tonight in blocks, 6-3. Moral of the story: just complain about something. I'm really surprised the outcome of the game was so close.

I wish there was a tunnel from the PE building to the podium. My (then) long hair froze more than once on the walk back. First day of second semester Freshman year it was -28 in Albany. The Dakotas don’t have a monopoly on crappy weather. Snow here tomorrow as a matter of fact
I remember that morning, and I think that low temperature still stands for Albany's lowest record temperature ever. Later in the day it warmed up to +22° after a week of brutally cold weather. Kids were out in Dutch quad in shorts throwing frisbees.

That makes sense...probably state pinching pennies. That'd be a shame. Tire our kids out and lose the game.
They probably returned to NY for the campus food.

I think that game is in Idaho. Either way, Kibbie Dome is over rated. They brought the noise and we said 'we can't hear you'.
BTW. This thread is up to 23 pages. That has to be a new record in the past 10 years for a game thread. Our FB and MBB programs have been pretty lack luster the past decade. Nice to see so much excitement about the athletic program again.
It's great this year to return to read and post.

I was going to keep it classy but I need to say it: Prince Edward Island potatoes put Idaho potatoes to shame.
Go Danes!
Let's hope Idaho spudders throughout the rest of the game.

UA was the only America East team to win today in women's basketball.

BTW, that was olddog71 that said that, not me.
A little clarification. I didn't give an explanation as to why UA may be getting blocked more than blocking. I just noted a discrepancy between us and other teams in that statistic. I'm sure there is an explanation somewhere, but I sure don't know it.

Just a guess, but if you look at the disparity in points in the paint it might be that the Bears had a lot more opportunities for a blocked shot in tight quarters. Or more likely I’ve got no idea what I’m talking about. 😂
The reason that I mentioned the number of steals is because it seems that UA never outblocks our opponent. I can't remember the last time we had more of them than the others on the court. With a lower-ranked team facing us, I thought this game might be the one time blocks were in our favor. Again, my concern is only very minor.
-
Just one minor complaint. Even against a Division III team, UA made fewer blocks.

To think that we were so-o-o close to hosting another game!

Stupid Moscow it is. As a Ukrainian, I hate it. 🤣
Since Russians tend to screw up everything and brag more than the reality, maybe we have a good chance. Нам, всего хорошего!

Let's hope the course of the men's basketball game goes the same way as the women's tonight.

The women pulled away nicely in the second half.

Yeah the locker room comment is warranted but stadium? Casey is beautiful.
It's possible that UA may be playing next weekend in our very humble stadium, but Richmond team members will be cleaning out their hoity-toity lockers.
