Ladies v. Syracuse Recap

Recommended Posts

Great game to broadcast despite the loss...hope y'all caught the action.

Ladies lost 66-56...but it was a hard fought game and alot of positive things came out of this game that the team can build on.

This was a tough Syracuse team and despite being atrocious from the Free Throw Line (40%) they came away with the victory due to the full court press. Albany had a hard time dealing with it and just made some poor decisions which led to nearly half of Syracuse's points. (They scored 30 points off turnovers) If Albany had, lets say, 7 or 8 less turnovers, they could have won this game.

Syracuse's perimeter D was very good, and albany was only 3-15 from 3 point land (schumacher made 3-9). Hutcheson had another great game (16 points, 8 rebounds) and Alicia Learn was very solid (14 points 5 rebounds)

The one thing I worry about this Albany team is that their PG's have trouble scoring, and are more of passers than anything, this is good, but they need to drive to the basket more to free up Schumacher on the outside, or draw attention away from Hutch or Jones in the post.

WCDB goes on the road with the team to bring you UAlbany v. Colgate...gametime is this Saturday at 2pm!!! Check us out 90.9FM or Live Webcast Click here
