St. John's coach Kim Barnes Arico has talked to coaches about the difficulties in coaching an inexperienced team like her own.

 

"I think our biggest thing is our inconsistency," Barnes Arico said. "Other coaches tell me that's a sign of an immature or young team, and I hope that's our case. We have a tendency to be up and down."

 

But one way that St. John's has been consistent is in losing against Georgetown. The Red Storm has not beaten the Hoyas in seven seasons. Unfortunately for St. John's, the losing continued with a 64-57 defeat before a crowd of 919 at Carnesecca Arena last night.

 

St. John's (17-8, 6-8 Big East) has lost 11 straight games against the Hoyas, dating to its last win on Jan. 14, 1998. - Newsday
