College Hoopnet - ONIONS

 

-Finally, all of this year’s #16 seeds, who proved that they indeed can play with the best in the land. Particularly we should never forget the spirit shown by Albany, a school that had never even come close to the Division I NCAAs before, yet was fearless in its first trip and had a double-digit lead on mighty Connecticut midway through the second half. Head Coach Will Brown has done a fabulous job with this program, and the Great Danes proved that their terrific performance back in December at UCLA was no fluke.

 

Lets hope the administration respects Coach as much as this author.

NCAA Tournament: First Round Randomness

 

 

 

Jermaine Wallace’s game-winning three-pointer to beat Iowa was easily the best shot in the first round and could possibly be the most memorable shot of the tournament. But the most memorable moment of the first round took place five minutes after Albany lost to UConn. Albany played brilliantly and passionately and, despite the loss, every fan in Philadelphia was literally singing their praises long after the final buzzer …
