That also pissed me off about Trimboli. Both Vermont home games we had huge leads in the second half and they clawed back to make it more respectable. That game was never as close as the final score indicated.

Yes, that one of Siggers.
-
Great picture in the USA Today Sports Section of Siggers hugging his Dad after the championship win.

If we win on Saturday, I would be willing to bet the farm that we play Villanova or UConn in Philly next Friday as the 16th seed. Based on regional matchups, I just don't see them shipping us anywhere else.
We might have a outside shot at getting the last #15 seed, which might send us to a place like Dayton or Dallas.

Dane Pound --- Please stop this madness and delete this thread!!!!!!!!! Let's stay positive and get rid of this negative garbage.

It is all about winning, my friend. Welcome to the world of politics!!!!

Saw it in their printed monthly magazine and weekly e-newsletter.

Albany-Colonie Chamber of Commerce is holding a breakfast on Tuesday, March 21 at the Holiday Inn Turf, 205 Wolf Road, Albany. 7:30-9:00am
Will Brown, Fran McCaffery and Brian Beaury will be discussing the business of basketball. CBS6 Sports Director Doug Sherman will moderate the panel discussion.
$20 for chamber members/$40 for non-members
Should be an interesting one!!!!

I hate to break the news. But, I think all the seats but chairbacks are all general admission meaning you don't have an assigned seat for the game.
-
I hope the Danes end the season on an upnote Sunday. If they lose, I really think it puts a huge damper on the regular-season title. Plus, they could easily play UMBC again in the quarterfinals. They need to treat this game like VCU again.
I heard this game might be on Fox Sports NY. Anyone else???
-
Binghamton is definitely a better atmosphere because of their loyal fans. However, I agree. Boston is the place to be. Big city and plenty of non-basketball entertainment for the weekend. I was very disappointed the Danes didn't play in Agganis this year. Maybe next year, the Terriers will book us there as a main event draw.

Please post the link stating Boston U. is hosting next year.

Until UAlbany remedies their concessions, parking problems, adds more chairbacks and draws 3,000-4,000 on a consistent basis, they will never host the tourney.
-
I heard ticket sales are going well today and we should expect atleast 3,500 tonight!!!!
-
It is unfortunate that the students won't be there on Monday. However, this game has other exciting elements:
1) Searching for first-ever regular-season conference title
2) #1 Seed in the conference tourney
3) Senior Night
4) Will Brown Appreciation -- Should we start the "4 More Years" Chant During the Intros?
5) Revenge Versus Vermont
6) Even without students and the sudden interest in the program, we should draw 3,000 for this game.

This article on Will Brown is the best news we have heard in months. Dr. McElroy, thank you, for clearing some of the air. You deserve an A+ if you keep Coach Brown.
-
If I remember correctly, I think McElroy was critical of Brown not winning any postseason games since coaching at Albany (when the discussion of an extension came up last offseason). Trina has only won one postseason game since arriving. Even if Albany falls the championship game of the conference tourney, Brown deserves a new contract. I do think there is pressure to win atleast two games in Binghamton.

Putting that photo in there with that caption is poor journalism on the TU's part.

I think it is safe to say the Pub will be rocking at Happy Hour next Friday!!!!!! Good move on their part to finally get Direct TV.
-
I totally agree. It looks horrible on tv. Hello Albany administrators, we aren't Madison Square Garden!!!!!!!!!!
-
That response right there tells me that the Danes need to reach the NCAAs to save Will's job. Unfair pressure? Yes!!!
Do you think Al Walker needs to reach the Dance to save his job? No!!!

Sounds like others appreciate the direction of our men's basketball program and leadership of Will Brown.
-
I think Dr. McElroy has probably already made up his mind, NCAA or not. The question is, does President Hall agree?
Bottom line, no other coach could have done a better job with this team over the past two seasons. As long as we keep winning, it should work out for everyone involved.

I hope we can draw 3,000-3,500 for the Vermont home finale as well.
Who are we playing in the BPG next year
in Winter Sports-Danes Hoops, Track

It is all about where the scheduling falls. I believe Albany always hosts the BPG on the first Saturday of February, regardless of the AE conference opponent. Playing Binghamton this time around would be sweet though.
