  1. It seems like he likes living in Albany and values the community and the fact that he built the program from the ground up. If I were in his shoes I'd think of Albany as a well paying job that barring a catostrophic program collapse that he has a lifetime job for as long as he wants it. I would not roll the dice on a bottom level team in a conference like the Atlantic 10. Sure you have a few years of a few hundred grand per year. But is taking Fordham or George Mason to a perennial powerhouse in the Atlantic 10 realistic? If so its just another stepping stone. Can anyone name dominant household name coach from the A-10? I can think of the St Joes guy off the top of my head and don't even know his name. I think Will Brown stays at Albany until a big conference team offers him a job. The Siena coach to Iowa comes to mind. How can you turn down a Big 10 job paying in the millions coaching top NCAA level talent? So I believe that Albany has home court advantage because of the stability and his family being comfortable here. I think if any bottom level teams from a conference a notch up (A-10) just isn't worth it risk vs reward. My worry will be when he starts getting mentioned at a higher level conference. Now I know AE to Big 10 may sound insane but D1 in 1999 to where Albany is today and now multiple tournies w big time exposure (UCONN SB/OK) I think alot of search firms now have Will Brown on the top of their list. I read mixed things on what Albany can pay him. So if that is an issue I take back my entire post. Will Brown should not go to work with his resume for anything in the 300s. So putting myself in his shoes again Albany 2015-16 for the same 300s or ANY school at 750. I'm taking the 750. Albany has to show me a solid raise. Doesnt have to be to 750 but better rip up the old contract and get the checkbook out. Dont know how I feel On one hand have got so used to him being such a great part of the program Id be angry if he was gone on the other hand guy did so much good fo our program and school if hes rewarded with a big raise and a higher profile school good for him.But obvi I'd love to see him here forever.Lastly the posts that the program is bigger than the coach are comical. There was NO program without the Coach. He recruited these guys. Most importantly he is an unbelievable Xs and Os coach. He has dominated superior AE teams in March for years now and hung tight with FAR inferior talent and depth against the likes of Calhoun Donovan and Coach K. So i appreciate the excitement of us having a basketball program, but make no mistake about it we have a basketball program becasue of Will Brown!

  2. I am a 2004 graduate which was not that long ago when sporting events were NOT even an option. In 10 short years to make it to the top of the conference in attendence is very impressive considering the history and part of the community in Vermont. In following the team and this board it looks as if the fans come out for the quality rivalry games vs Vermont and Stony Brook. I'm assuming excitement is building as we get closer to the NCAAs. The next game will build and the championship will be a tough ticket. Missing out on the Maine game on a Wednesday night 1 vs 8 seed probable blowout not on the top of the list for students who Wednesday is the rare off

Night party wise and families not going to be out late for work/school for a 1 vs 8 Maine matchup. Again as an 04 grad meaningful March basketball and top attendence in AE was a pipe dream when I was there. Its still the AE. Theres still games people are not going to leave the dorms/homes for vs Maine and UMBC. We will slowly take over the local fan base from Siena as long as CB keeps doing what hes doing. Patience. Im still in shock seeing Albany in the March Madness Bracket. Ive been following the team for years. My friends all made fun of me who attended Albany. Those same friends now text me when we beat Vermont or start to see we are again tourney contenders. It takes time. We made it from the bottom to here. The hard part is over!! Enjoy the fan base is developing trust me!

  3. I bought one off the athletics website after the first AE tourney win got number one (my number growing up) its black has ualbany on front in purple with gold trim and one on back. It came with no number on front looked awful so i took to local uniform shop and had them put a one on the front so it was wearable for the Duke game in Philly. I saw a replica Jamar recently on athletics website that looked awful. I assume they were making them after first tourney win from demand so if we request enough im sure they can start making again. After getting the one put on front its def a jersey im ok wearing in the summer. Please post if u get them to make again

  4. One more person steps up besides DJ and we win hooley 1-10 rowley 1-8 ugh so close great effort amazing Coaching/gameplan playing in the 50-60s better hope Coach Brown sticks around and nobody else opens their checkbook. I know some of u guys dont always support CB but to hang with UCONN DUKE and now FLA with a 6-7 man rotation and ONE GUY playing well today (Puk and Johnson no offense but mean one of our bigger scorers) from the America East is pure 100% AWESOME coaching/gameplan. I could care less about our regular season record. THIS is what matters I've had a super fun week because of Albany basketball in March. Cant believe Im saying those words as a 2004 graduate who watched the EJ Gallup teams when the crowd went wild vs Syracuse when we cut it to under 30. A 13 seed may help win a game or 2 but Im not getting greedy. Ill take a year like this every year. We are gonna get a W in "round 2" soon. Great job all around from coaches to all the players and more importantly for the loyal fans on here. Been a reader for years!! Lastly a round of applause for the senior DJ Evans at 5'8 getting knocked around all day was clutch in the 2014 NCAA tourney! Congrats guys hope u all enjoyed the run ! Lets go on a run next year we are right there and America was watching and rooting again today like UCONN hope it helps a bunch on the recruiting trail!

  5. Was hoping to read some more posts today. Obviously think we have to continue the ground and pound type play. I am concerned about the Florida press quite a bit. I also think in order to beat them we are going to need alot of 3 pointers to go down so guess that means Evans and Hooley. To leave on a positive we hung with UConn learned a lesson vs UVA hung with Duke last year, I think we definately have the experience necessary to pull off the upset. Gotta hope for a perfect game from us and poor performance from them. Going to leave work in an hour and a half to meet up with my old roomates at a bar. Would love to hear everyones thoughts on game today as I have checked out of actually working quite some time ago lol. LETS GO DANES!

  6. Hello All have been a big fan of the Danes since 2000 (graduated in 04) read the board all the time dont post too often. Me and 3 alumni are looking to go to the game on Sat. If anyone has any tickets to spare please contact me via email at dmurph43@aol.com i assume they may be hard to come by being SBs pitiful excuse of a gym. Any help on how to get tickets would be great. Could I just show up and buy tix from someone there? Any help would be greatly appreciated. GO DANES!

  7. Getting tickets for season ticket holders should not be too hard. Last year I recall us not even buying up all 600. There were UVM fans scattered all around in our section.

I am skiing at Whiteface next weekend, so this will be the first championship game that I have ever missed. But I am thinking of buying 2 tickets and donating them back to our school or BPF because I am afraid we will not buy up our allotment and more SB people will get to go. Will we definitely keep all of our tickets allocated?
