PF Taking Visits This Month

By Brian Towey Senior Reporter

Date: Oct 5, 2004

Visit schedule of Kevin Vosilla, 6-foot-7 230 pound PF from Massapequa (NY) High School,

He wasn't a player that took the worldwind AAU tour this July, but Kevin Vosilla, the 6-foot-7 230 pound power forward from Massapequa High School in Massapequa, New York generated plenty of interest.

Vosilla competed at the AAU Nationals in Orlando this July with the Manhasset All-Stars, and was also one of the mainstays for the Long Island team at the Empire State Games.

A hard-working big man who can step out and knock down the mid-range jumper, Vosilla has a visit lined up this weekend.

"I just visited Albany last weekend," said Vosilla. "That went pretty well. It was a lot of fun. This weekend, I'm going to visit Rider."

Other schools who have expressed interest include Lafayette, Lehigh, American, Yale and Columbia. "Mostly Patriots and Ivies" have been the most persistent.

"I'm just trying to keep my options open," said Vosilla. "I'm going to do a lot of comparing after I visit Rider.

"If I see what I like and it's what I want, then I will have no problem signing early."

Vosilla is currently playing with the Suffolk County team in the IS8 League in Queens.

A strong student, Kevin carries over a 90 average. He has topped 1100 on the SAT.
