Men's POY and ROY

Recommended Posts

UA only had one POY - that was Jordan in the first week of the season. No ROY awards this year.

There were a couple of indidual games where Brent Wilson and Brian Lillis played well, but I cannot think of any week where they should have won the award. Neither can I recall any week where there was a UA player that should have been up for the POY award. Jamar had some nice weeks, but Coppenrath, Sorrentine and Barea had a series of incredible weeks.

I think this is good overall as it shows the team is pretty balanced and the freshmen were not needed as much.

reeder - you're exactly right But I think you meant ROWs and POWs. We have arrived as a true DI program.

I'm hoping next year that our freshman have the same type of year that Brent and Brian (minus the injury) had, 15-20 minutes a game with solid contributions.

Next season we have 6 solid contributors from this year's team plus Iati coming back, giving us 7 very solid and seasoned players. We have 2 more freshman coming in and may have 1 more scholarship to give( I'm not sure).

Therefore we should be very solid and have 2 or 3 guys who will have the opportunity to fit in, no more force feeding 37 minutes+ to freshman.

Now if we do get a newcomer who gets 30+ minutes a game you know we just stole a great player.
