I note the obituary in this morning's Times Union of Nancy K. Burlingame, the widow of our former Baseball Coach, Bob Burlingame. Coach Burlingame served as Varsity Baseball Coach from 1959 to 1979. He is a member of our Hall of Fame, having been inducted in 1989. He died in Florida in December, 2000.

I think many board members of my generation will recall (not always fondly) that when we were in school, there was a requirement that we take several years of "gym" which were often skills courses in various sports and often taught by the coaching staff. I remember having taken a baseball tactics class taught by Coach Burlingame, although not as vividly as I remember taking Handball with Coach Sauers.
