I noticed on the University website that the University announced the hiring of a VP for Development yesterday. This follows last month's announcement of the hiring of a Provost. While these announcements may not seem athletic related, they were top priorities for an incoming President, and with these people in place, the athletic facilities plan gets to move up on the "to do" list.

 

I also heard a rumor that VP for Student Affairs, Jim Doellefeld is retiring. Has anyone else heard this? I may be wrong, but on the University personnel flow chart, doesn't the Athletic Director report to the VP for Student Affairs? Which , begs the next question: does any of this affect the Coach Brown contract situation?

The rumor of the VP for Student Affairs is on track....however the AD does not report to the VP. When Hall became President he asked the AD to begin to report directly to him. This is in line with what most Universities do.
