Pres. Hall recognizes UA athletics/men's bball

Recommended Posts

This past weekend, Pres. Hall was talking about how the UAlbany community should have more pride in our school. He named a number of reasons, including the couple multi-million dollar research deals we have recently picked up. He capped it off by saying that he feels that the majority of the people at our school truly don't realize how great of a sports program we have. He mentioned our AE Commisioner's Cup win, knocking off Boston's streak. And summed up by saying that everyone should be really excited about our men's basketball team. He thinks we have the promise to do well and was very happy about some of our higher profile OOC games (mentioning UCLA, Florida), and how important this was for national exposure, even if it means our team will pick up a few bruises along the way. He even rattled off the date for the Siena game, saying he was looking forward to it and encouraging everyone to attend.

PS - To answer a question in one of the OOC games threads, Hall said he didn't have anything to do with the scheduling of the Utah Valley State game and only saw it when our schedule was released. But was familiar with the school and was pretty impressed by their transition over the past few years.

maybe, we're talking about the same thing, but President Hall made very similar comments about the men's basketball team at the Varsity Club breakfast on Saturday before the Jets-Giants practice.

Maybe it was his weekend line. It was up north at Camp Dippikill in a UA Administration/Student Association get together on Friday.
