Lucious Jordan

Recommended Posts

What's up with Lucious??? Does anyone have an idea?

He's avg 28mpg over 3 games and only 5.3ppg. His high game has been 6 pts.

In 84 minutes of play he's taken only 2FTs and missed them both.

He's been a total nonentity and he is so valuable to our being successful.

You see him play a lot more than I do, but based on what I've seen, I think that he has become more of a perimeter player.

Lucious worked really hard on his jump shot when he sat out that year. He shot it really well last year in non conference play and in a couple of conference game (the Vermont game comes to mind).

I think he has become too dependent on his perimeter play. I think that a lot of his non conference success last year was because he was a tough slasher and the defenses had to respect that. After a few games last year, he became a perimeter player. In fact, one of the announcers last night (I think it was Tobben) said that Jordan scored 30 last year a lot of the points were slasher moves and that he wasn't doing that anymore. If he wants to shoot from the perimeter, the shots don't have to be from 3 point range, they can be 15 to 17 feet.

I'd like to see him shoot less from the perimeter and spend more time slashing to the basket.

reeder - I'd like to see him attack the hoop, too - but I would take almost any shots from him he's avg 5 shots per game, he seems disinterested.

He should be getting 12-14 shot a game but it just appears he not expending the energy to get them.

I think something is wrong with him, I hope not, but he use to help us on the boards too.... in something like 36 minutes last night he had 0 defensive boards and I don't recall him attempting to rebound.

I hope he breaks out of this funk we desperately need him contributing.
