Danes intend to make home field tournament-worthy

Recommended Posts

Scott Marr says they began discussing a couple of weeks ago. He, McElroy and Rick Coe say there's enough power for computers and phones where the scoreboard is set up.

Coe: "We are exploring all options, because there's a good chance we could host both the conference tournament and an NCAA tournament game... We've already contacted a bleachers company about renting some bleachers, and to make provisions for the media". Another option is University Field, but "the team has been playing and practicing all year on John Fallon Field. We don't want to take away any home-field advantage."

Marr: "Somebody said to me we could have made a couple of thousand dollars if we had a concession stand at the game". We're one of the few D-I teams that don't charge admission - "We wouldn't want to make it too expensive for the students, but if we charged $2 or $3 a head, it gives you a chance to balance out things you spend"

We're discussing bringing Syracuse here next year, but no contract has been signed.
