Another former UA assistant

Shaker High graduate Tony Wise is returning to Pitt football 30 years after first coaching at the school. Wise, an NFL assistant coach the past 18 seasons, was hired Tuesday as Pitt's offensive line coach. This is the seventh time Wise, who began his career as a University at Albany assistant in 1973, and Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt have been on the same staff.

They first coached together at Pitt in 1977-78 under coach Jackie Sherrill. They later coached together at Oklahoma State and Miami and with the Cowboys, Bears and Dolphins. Wise spent the past two seasons as offensive line coach with the New York Jets.
