Well, I might as well start this thread because someone will eventually do it anyway. I was disappointed again to see we didn't rank this year as Tier 1. I know we've made improvements. Our acceptance rate was 52% according to US News. That is significantly better than where it was 10 years ago. It's 10 to 15 points better. Still, I was hoping we'd be down into the 40% range.

The so called "flagships" didn't do that much better. Buffalo took one of the last spots for Tier 1. Stony Brook wasn't much better. Only three schools were more selctive than UA in our tier so we can't be more than a few spots behind UB.

Bing made improvements. They're 77 this year and only accepted 39% of applicants. Being small you can be more selective. I think they were ranked in the 80s last year?

I don't know if it makes anyone feel better but we made their ranking for "A+ Options for B Students". Nano College Undergraduate Engineering will get us over the top. I hope we start enrolling engineering students this year.

I just noticed we did well in their "Best Colleges: High School Counselor Rankings of National Universities"

We came in Tier 1. We beat Stony Brook and smoked Buffalo. Yeah, councilors know best!
