Recapping RMU and looking towards Wagner

Recommended Posts

Preview video from Wagner

Game will be on TW3 and Fox College Sports

You'll see in this video why they're a much much different team without #6

Doscher is not your typical freshman QB either. He's a 21 year-old 6'3" 220lb former professional baseball player who signed with Wagner after giving up his minor league baseball career.

Article says he chose Wagner over Delaware.

Fordie on Wyland:

Takes the hit for the RMU loss. He couldn't let go of the CCSU loss himself, let alone trying to get the kids to let it go.

Real good week of practice this week.

Dinged up for sure. 3 Olinemen not at 100%. McCarty nearing 80%.

All starters ready to go, but will be in the 80-85% effective.

Wagner a much much improved team from the beginning of the year. But they are very lopsided. Very good offensively, but bad on defense. But he doesn't know whether our offense will be up to par this week either.

Doscher is a really good QB. They have designed an offense around him that meets his talents.

They have balance on offense, but Doscher is the guy to stop. RBs and WRs are just OK. Doscher is the guy though. He got dinged up badly against RMU, but Fordie doesn't know his status. Had we not gotten Smith two years ago, Fordie said he would have gone after Doscher hard this offseason. He's a program building kind of kid.

Defensive scheme is going to be a contain defense, not a pressure offense.

Drew Smith will be used and will get more reps this week than he has in the past. Where Smith ends up next year will depend on what they can recruit at TB. Right now Fordie thinks Smith is the best player we have at multiple positions on the offense, including being the best WR we have in the program.

Confirmation that Fordie doesn't think we have a RB right now that will allow Smith to play QB full-time.
