1. the ae message board says that stony brook is hosting villanova. can anyone confirm that garbage?

Why is that garbage? They played BC last year.

It's garbage because they are hosting Villanova. I'm not saying it's garbage that they are playing them. How the hell does SBU get to host Villanova?

  2. The men's Syracuse contract is over, as far as I know. I think it ended two years ago, and, if I correctly recall, I believe Will Brown was glad the series was over. I don't know whether his sentiments on the Orange has changed, especially after our just completed successful season.

As far as playing Syracuse at the RACC, I don't think that possibility is very realistic. The only "home" game we played in the 4-for-1 series occurred at the Pepsi, where we were, for once, the home team. The attendance for that event was about 9,000, and UAlbany fans seemed outnumbered by the Orange fans.

I think any game between the two teams played in the Capital District area would attract many more fans than the RACC could accommodate. It would be one of the games I personally would sanction again for the Pepsi, and since UAlbany has become more competitive, I think it would draw more fans on a weekend than the first game did.

In summary, this post on the Syracuse series is a bunch of vague ideas in my memory and a few opinions. Take it for what it's worth.

Was there a problem between Coach Brown and Syracuse?

  3. From the TU

Think UAlbany can't possibly beat UConn? Think again:

UConn lost 94-79 on Jan. 3 to Marquette ...

which lost 104-85 on Jan. 15 to West Virginia ...

which lost 58-52 on Jan. 25 to Marshall ...

which lost 71-66 on Dec. 29 to South Carolina State ...

which lost 68-67 on Jan. 23 to Coppin State ...

which lost 65-64 on Nov. 14 to Lehigh ...

which lost 57-53 on Dec. 4 to Cornell ...

which lost 68-59 on Jan. 9 to UAlbany.

    So there. Never say never.

  4. OMG I already can't contain myself. We already have some poeple who are planning on getting there early Saturday morning. We've been throwing around the idea of anything from 5am-7am for the arrival time. And depending on how many people we get, we mentioned maybe calling the student "camp-out area" BROWN TOWN.

I hear the students with their kegs and eggs worries, but this is just something I just can't miss for ANYTHING. You do kegs and eggs once, you've done it 100x. Anyways, with St. Patty's Day being on Friday the 17th, they most likely will have it the following weekend as well..just like usual. So no worries ua06!

I can't believe the buzz that's already around campus for this game. IT"S GONNA BE NUTS!

    12465

You can count on about 6 more people to camp out with you in Brown Town!

  5. So what time do you think I should lineup Saturday morning?

    12440

You'd know the atmosphere on campus better than we would. Starting before dark Friday, have somebody keep an eye on the gym all night to call everyone over if the line starts building. Maybe you'll get a TV camera showing you all camped out, like at Duke or RPI hockey season tickets (used to be anyway). (Or call channel 13 and tip them off). Luckily the forecast low for Saturday morning is no worse than about 40 degrees.

    12447

I was thinking of getting there at 7am and waiting. I just wanted to get a feel on when the rest of the students on the board are going.

If you start spreading a rumor about people camping out the night before people would believe it and the next thing you there are students camping out sleeping on the bleachers.
