COLIN DISCH NAMED NORTHEAST CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK IN FOOTBALL

Somerset, N.J. – University at Albany’s Colin Disch has been chosen as the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week in football, as announced on Monday, Sept. 13 by the conference office.

Disch, an inside linebacker, totaled a game-high 13 tackles, including four unassisted and 1.5 for losses, and added a half sack. Disch, a redshirt freshman from North Plainfield, N.J., led a solid defensive effort in his team’s 14-0 loss to Patriot League foe Fordham. The Great Danes held the visitors to 207 total yards, including 30 through the air. Both of Fordham’s scoring drives started inside UAlbany territory.

Disch, whose brother was a starting linebacker on last year’s Colgate squad that reached the Division I-AA national championship game, also had 10 tackles in the opener against Hofstra.
